    Michalis Karaiskos (b. 1979) hails from Paphos, Cyprus.
    He graduated ASFA with an Integrated Master in Fine Arts and a top grade of 27/30. Since his graduation from the ASFA and for several years, he was self-employed as a byzantine iconographer to earn his living (2010-2017). In addition, from 2015 till 2017, he worked as a private iconography tutor at Peloponnese, Greece. As a result, he completed portable icons and frescoes for churches and monasteries in Greece and Cyprus and the Parliament of Cyprus.

    However, in 2017, he decided to quit iconography and exclusively dedicated himself to his painting practice. Since then, he has participated in group exhibitions and residency programs in Greece and abroad.

    In 2019, The National Commission of Unesco Cyprus nominated him to represent Cyprus in the UNESCO's 3rd edition international Art Camp Malta. The artwork on offer here was executed during his stay on the Maltese Islands.
