Artist's Statement:
I was present when my father’s remains were re-exhumed after 12 years from his death. It was an experience that changed drastically my practice. My main interest was always the human figure and my inspiration was mainly rooted within its form. This experience shifted by analysis onto objects and bodies in transition. I’m interested in the fragmentation of living matter and its continuous transformation to the extent of decomposition, a gradual agglomeration of dead and living cells. I work incessantly in drawing as part of the process of capturing an idea or movement that eventually will force itself into a tangible painting.
