Victor Agius b. (1982) works in ceramics, mixed media paintings and sculptures, performance and installation. He has his studio in Xaghra and his works have an intimate connection with earth, committed to presenting it in its pure form using an archaeological approach around formless matter.
He studied art in Malta, Perugia Italy and at Central St Martin’s College in London. His works have been exhibited in galleries and Museums both locally and internationally. Recently he was invited to exhibit his works at Eduardo Secci Gallery in Florence, at the European Ceramics Context at Bornholm Art Museum in Denmark and at the Museo Internazionale della Ceramica in Faenza Italy during Premio Faenza.
Agius’s work offer a reflection about our fragile existence on earth, the concept of time and the way we ritually consume what is around us for our mundane, corporeal and spiritual needs.
